This year at Samsung’s developers conference we can expect to see a launch of the company’s foldable phone. CNBC reports that the company’s CEO, DJ Koh hinted that this new and extraordinary type of phone will be revealed this November at the conference, though it’s still not clear whether consumers will be able to purchase this device.
Koh did admit that the development of this phone wasn’t easy as they thought it would be, but since the company’s first tease back in 2012 they have been testing and experimenting with bendable OLED displays. There wasn’t any info on this new type of phone or what we can expect, but Koh did say that this device should and will include features that will make consumers go “WOW 😮”.
Above is an advertisement that the company released back in 2014. As you can see, the advertisement did feature a device with a bendable display that folded from a more tablet-like size into a pocketable phone.
Let’s hope that Samsung is actually able to launch the phone (at least) this year after the many years of teasing us with this concept of foldable phone(s) which is literally said to be able to fold in to two like a wallet and the exterior of this device will be display a small bar of information.
