If you ever wished to go back to those good old days of Windows 95 where you don’t get constant updates on your machine which doesn’t result in you suddenly finishing your internet’s quota/data. If so, here is your chance in doing it. Slack developer, Felix Rieseberg, has developed this beautiful app that let’s you run Windows 95 on your laptop or PC. Doesn’t matter if you’re using a Windows, Mac or Linux machine because this app supports them all.
Yes, i’m sure you’re wondering that you can simply run this operating system OS on a VMWare or Virtual Box instead of using an app, but not everyone is techie enough. So this application is catered to all. Rieseberg has published both the source code and app on Github. And as you would expect, apps like Wordpad, phone dialer, MS Paint, and Minesweeper (😍) are working as how it did back when Windows 95 was the thing.
This application is said to only just consume 200MB of RAM, even when you run all of Windows 95 utilities, applications and games. Sounds amazing yeah? And this app is just around 129MB in size and you can download it for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. I hope you would enjoy this quirky trip down the memory lane.
